This release for all Radeon family products updates the ATI Display Driver to version 8.14. The unified driver has been further enhanced to provide the highest level of power, performance, and reliability. The driver supports 24 languages. The release introduces full hardware acceleration of Microsoft Windows Media Video (WMV) files when using DirectX 9 shaders. Hardware acceleration significantly reduces dropped frames and can reduce CPU usage up to 50%. As with most Catalyst releases, performance has increased in various situations. With 3DMark05, a performance gain of up to 5% is noticed as a result of generic driver Z-optimizations. This package also includes ATI Multimedia Center 9.08, HydraVision 3.25.0006, HydraVision 3.25.9006 Basic Edition, WDM Driver Install Bundle, Remote Wonder 3.0.2, and the Southbridge/IXP driver.
